El Rompido is a traditional fishing village on the edge of the province of Huelva. Some of the best swimming beaches in Spain are but a few minutes away, and the area is replete with nature preserves and parks. The view from the town is exquisite, overlooking the beach and the island preserve "la Flecha," just a short boat ride across the harbor.

The town of El Rompido is just an hour's drive from Sevilla, 20 minutes from Portugal, and is surrounded by parks and natural lands, including the Doñana National Park--one of the largest nature preserves in Europe.

Faro, Portugal - Approximately 1-1/2 hour drive; airfare is usually more costly

Seville, Spain - Approximately one hour drive

Renting an automobile is, of course, the speediest method to take from either airport.

Other modes of transportation in Spain if you prefer not to drive:

The high-speed AVE train travels from Northern Spain to Seville; the standard-speed Renfe Train system runs between various cities, including Seville to Huelva, the provincial capital.

Iberic Railpass

Spain has excellent and relatively inexpensive inter-province bus services, allowing you to travel between most cities within the country. Most routes will take you directly into city of Huelva, where you would transfer onto a bus for El Rompido.
